Here, we’re only looking at songs that have Linda in their title. Any song with the word “linda” in the title is welcome to be included here, whether it is a country song about linda or a rock song about linda.
1. “Looking for Linda” by Hue and Cry
First on our list of songs with linda in the title is looking for linda by hue and cry.
The song “Looking for Linda” was inspired by an actual meeting that Pat Kane, a member of the band Hue and Cry, had with a woman named Linda. It was an unintended encounter, in the sense that the two of them happened to run into each other while riding a train in Scotland.
And to a certain extent, this is the reason why the lyrics to this story are so distinctive. Having said that, it should not be too difficult to grasp what is being communicated here. To put it in the simplest terms possible, it seems that what Linda was dealing with was an abusive relationship, as is hinted in the second verse.
For example, in the second verse, “some person” is shown as “holding (Linda) back from the window.” This is a reference to the fact that Linda is at the window. The way Pat individually related the event, on the other hand, made it sound as if Linda was trying to get away from her lover, and because of this, he did not seem to be there at all.
2. Leroy Taylor’s “Oh Linda”
This long-forgotten soul song had its first release in 1967, but it was not until the Northern Soul DJs of the 1970s that it was brought back to life in the UK. I have not been able to find out very much about Leroy Taylor himself, but I do enjoy listening to music that has an old soul vibe to it.
This song is addressed to Linda, for whom the narrator professes tremendous affection. He genuinely admires and adores everything about Linda. From her grin to her gait, she exudes elegance. And one of the things that brings him the most joy and makes him love her even more is that she loves him back.
The music consists of two sections. The first section is where he declares his love for her, as previously described. It is evident from the lyrics that Linda has left him and traveled to Spain. He requests that she return to him.
3. “Linda On My Mind” by Conway Twitty
Conway Twitty is an American country music musician who is famous for writing and recording the song “Linda on My Mind.””
The song was initially issued as a single in January 1975 and served as the title track for the album of the same name.
The song by Twitty topped the charts for the twelfth time, the country singles chart in the United States. The song was on the charts for eight weeks, peaking at number one for a full week.
4. “Linda Linda” By The Blue Hearts
It was on May 1, 1987 that the Japanese rock band “The Blue Hearts” made their debut with the single “Linda Linda”. Hiroto Kmoto, the primary vocalist for the band, was responsible for writing both the music and the lyrics, and The Blue Hearts were responsible for arranging the song.
During the year of the track’s release, it peaked at position #38 on the Oricon charts.
Linda Linda is a romantic ballad that is sung to Linda, who is the addressee. The lyrics indicate that the narrator is really enthusiastic and cannot wait for Linda to arrive. He goes into detail about everything he is looking forward to doing with her.
In the chorus of this song, he expresses his need to Linda, telling her how much he needs to see her and that he plans to experience and understand what real love is by being with her.
