Songs About Psycho

There is a little bit of psycho in every one of us, but often, that side of ourselves does not come out until a certain circumstance arises. Although every one of us has, at some point or another, been forced to interact with a psychopath, we also occasionally find ourselves playing the role of the psychopath in the lives of others.

A psycho is a person who is considered to be mentally unstable and insane or psychopathic. If you are currently struggling with psychos in your life, then the following is a selection of songs that will resonate with such a circumstance and will help you cope.

8 Songs About Psycho

1. “You’re In Love With A Psycho”  By Kasabian

Kasabian - You're In Love With a Psycho (Official Video)

This is without a doubt one of my best songs about psycho. It has a fantastic chord progression, incredible vocals by the lead singer, and a vibe that is evocative of grunge and rock and roll music from the early 2000s. The music is extremely groovy. Nobody’s doing it like Kasabian.

The chorus of this song is where it really shines, even though the verses themselves are outstanding in their own right. The vocals are low-fidelity and detuned, and the guitar accompaniment is a perfect match. It also has killer drums and a beat that will make you want to get up and dance the night away. The song is undeniably catchy, that much is for certain.

2. “Mad World” by Tears For Fears

Tears For Fears - Mad World (Official Music Video)

The feeling that you are the only person in the rat race with any feelings at all is one of the feelings that can drive a person to insanity faster than anything else in the world. Why am I the only one who seems to be upset? Is everyone else just going along with the flow and accepting whatever comes their way?

Going about our lives as if there was not a myriad of challenges staring us in the face each and every day. I am aware that we live in a crazy world, and I am certain that Tears for Fears are also aware of this fact; nonetheless, what the hell is wrong with all of those folks that have a smile on their face all the time? This is a song that lets you reminisce on the very ideals of life – happiness and love.

3. “Crazy Crazy World” by Islander

Islander - Crazy Crazy World (Official Music Video - Starring Sting)

The genre that Islander most closely reflects is difficult to pin down. This band and this song may be created by combining elements of metal, hip hop, and indie music, then rolling all of those elements into a ball.

The overarching theme of the song is something that can resonate with a wide variety of listeners. Written on the status of the world as it is right now, our vocalist reminds us that the lunacy is having an effect on his mental state and that it is taking its toll.

Because he is unable to breathe, because there is always something new to worry about, and because he is tormented with remorse over his previous errors. It’s definitely more than one person can manage! So, he asks himself, is the rest of the world completely insane? Or is just him?

4. “Crazy in My Mind” by Showtim3

Showtim3 is eager to relate his experiences with the inner madness that he contends with, which is possible for even the most stern of people. After advising him that he needs to grow up, his ideal woman has broken up with him and moved on.

And he acknowledges that he has just proven her right by the fact that he uses other ladies and drugs in order to “maintain” himself. However, not only are they losing their shine, but also their effects. He now appears to be nervous about what is about to happen, which is a confrontation with his own thoughts.

5. Kid Cudi’s “Wounds”

In 2013, after the end of a romantic relationship, Kid Cudi experienced a mental and emotional breakdown. In 2016, he revealed to his fans on social media that he had put himself into a rehab facility due to his difficulties with prescription medicines, anxiety, sadness, and the temptation to commit suicide. Cudi’s music is frequently infused with the metal and health themes that he confronts.

6. “I Feel Like Dying” by Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne - I Feel Like Dying

Lil Wayne, who has struggled with suicidal thoughts in the past, takes a vulnerable approach to the subject in this song. Lil Wayne came to terms with his own psychological health journey and revealed his drug addiction while he was at the pinnacle of his career.

Even while substance abuse has always been a part of hip-hop culture, when Wayne, who was the most famous rapper in the world at the time, described his dependence on the anti-anxiety medication Xanax, it was a turning point in the culture.

Wayne broke the taboo among rappers and encouraged them to speak frankly about the debilitating effects of substance abuse and the myriad ways in which mental illness influences our lives.

7. “Blank Space” by Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift - Blank Space

Taylor Swift establishes a persona for herself in which she blends the different guises she has used in her romantic relationships. The song begins with the early stages of love and progresses to the more difficult periods, during which her jealous, possessive, obsessive, and aggressive nature comes out.

She sings about the difficulties of dating men and how, in most cases, the man walks away from a relationship in a better position than the woman did.

8. “U” by Kendrick Lamar

u - Kendrick Lamar (To Pimp a Butterfly)

Last on our list of songs about psycho is “U” by Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick Lamar is widely regarded as one of the most talented MCs in the hip-hop genre. Because of his inventiveness as a lyricist, he is able to  discuss a wide variety of topics while maintaining a nuanced and vivid perspective.

The song “u,” which appears on his critically praised extended play (LP) To Pimp A Butterfly, delves into his past struggles with depression, as well as suicide ideas and survivor’s guilt. According to Lamar, this song was one of the hardest songs he’s ever written
