Songs About Having A Crush On A Teacher

You probably had your first crush on a teacher in middle school, which was another significant period in your life. I’m not referring to the elementary school, “Oh, he’s cute,” type of crush; rather, I’m referring to the all-encompassing kind that makes you stay up late at night imagining things that will probably never happen.

Sometimes it seems like only music could express how heartfelt your 13-year-old adolescent is. Because you couldn’t just subtweet them like middle schoolers now, you’d put lyrics from these songs as your aim away message in the hope that your Teacher crush would see it.

Here is a list of songs that you probably sang along to with your closest buddy while daydreaming about the teacher you had a crush on that week.

1. “Art Teacher” By Rufus Wainwright

Rufus narrates the tale of a young student who falls in love with her art teacher using only the piano and voice in the first person (much like a dramatic monologue). She gets married and has children, but she only ever had feelings for her art teacher.

The song is a profound reflection on the connection between art and life, how our decisions affect our lives, and the unrelenting haunting of love that has been lost or denied, in addition to being a beautiful short love story.

2. “Older” By Birdy

According to the lyrics of the song, Birdy admits that she longs to be older, to be with someone much older than herself, someone she believes to be the love of her life.

This is comprehensible because she was a musical genius, it’s clever beyond her years, and it’s relevant to anyone who has experienced unrequited love for an elderly person. Those in partnerships with a conspicuous age difference are frequently judged by others.

3. Abba’s “when I Kissed the Teacher”

When I Kissed The Teacher

Being an argent fan of Abba, this song is one of fan’s favorites and of course one of mine too. The recording session for “Rio de Janeiro” began on June 14, 1976.  The lighthearted lyrics of the song relate to the story of a scholar who had a crush on her tutor and one day can’t help but smooch him. The lines have been matched to lively music. This was Benny Andersson’s favourite ABBA song.

This song is written from the perspective of a female student who’s heads over heels for her teacher and makes advances towards him by smooching him as he tilts over here.

4. “Hot for Teacher” By Van Halen

Van Halen - Hot For Teacher (Official Music Video)

Before David Lee Roth left the band in 1985, “Hot For Teacher” was the final song and music video released by Van Halen. In the US, it peaked at position 58.

The story told in the song is about a young man who finds himself suddenly paying close attention in class, particularly to the teacher. Its lyrics were influenced by a former employee of Cherry Lawn School, a Connecticut boarding school that David Lee Roth attended as a youngster. The song’s outro was lifted from a previous demo of “Voodoo Queen,” which was recorded in 1977.

5. The Police -Don’t Stand So Close to Me

Dont Stand So Close To Me - The Police - By Acusticados.

This is the Police’s most well-known song, and it was first made available as a single on September 19, 1980, in the United Kingdom, where the band was formed.

Their third album, Zenyatta Mondatta, features it as the lead single. On the UK Singles Chart, it peaked at number one and reached position 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The song is about sexual temptation and feelings between a young pupil and her teacher that eventually lead to action (and found out by their peers). Although the tone and melody are somewhat fun, relationships between teachers and students are forbidden in the UK, regardless of the age of the student.

6. “What I Go To School For” By Busted

Busted - What I Go To School For

English pop punk band Busted’s “What I Go to School For” was their first hit. John McLaughlin, Charlie Simpson, Matt Willis, Steve Robson, and James Bourne all contributed to the writing, while Robson also served as producer.

Matt Willis’s crush on a teacher from his school days served as the inspiration for the song. It was released on September 16, 2002. The song video features a young Jade Ewen, who subsequently joined the girl group Sugababes.

The song is about a boy named Matt Willis who had feelings for his dance teacher, Miss McKenzie. He simply attends school to lustfully gaze at his teacher.

7. “Teacher’s Pet” by Melanie Martinez

Melanie Martinez - Teacher's Pet [Official Music Video]

The song “Teacher’s pet” by Melanie Martinez is about an extramarital union between a pupil and her teacher. And the singer primarily assumes the role of the girl in this relationship. To cut a long tale short, she has begun to fall for him. The implication is that she thinks he views her as immature since she feels that he is not treating her seriously.

She’s upset about the overall circumstance and is speaking generally. In other words, she wants to bring this affair out of the shadows and into the open, no longer keeping it a secret. He opposes that notion, choosing to focus on his “wife and kids” as they are.

Melanie exhibits conflicted feelings as a result at the end of the day. On the one hand, she feels cheated and condemns the teacher as a result. On the other hand, she is attracted to the man and worries about losing him.

“Teacher’s Pet” was eventually released after its original tease on August 15, 2019. It was a song from “K-12.” The second studio album in Martinez’s wildly popular musical career is titled “K-12.” On September 6, 2019, both the song and the album were released.

8. Elton John’a Teacher, I Need You

Teacher I Need You

Last on our list of songs about having a crush on a teacher is this piece written by John Elton and Bernie Taupin. The song was recorded by John and published in 1973.

In the 1970s, John performed “Teacher I Need You” live. Some performers, such as Richard Marx and Stephen Cummings, recorded their versions of the song.

The song “Teacher I Need You” was inspired by a young student’s sexual attraction to his female teacher. One music critic praised the song’s flow and the boy’s believable anger with his situation, saying that the song’s humorous and perceptive lyrics will pique listeners’ interest.
