Songs About Business Success

Kanye has said, artists should treat their career as a business because it is. It is quite reasonable to sing about your success, especially after working your butt off for it, and guess what is expressive enough to do that? Music! In our list, today are songs about business success.

1.  by JayZ & Swizz Beatz ` “On to the Next One”

JAY-Z - On To The Next One ft. Swizz Beatz

This song is almost certainly going to be the first song that comes to anyone’s mind when they are asked to mention Songs About Business Success.

In the song’s introduction and chorus, Swizz Beatz defines what “on to the next one” means. It’s as if the singer had started a business, made a boatload of cash, and is now “on to the next one,” which will also succeed. And he is sure it will be successful because that is his standard operating procedure, i.e., making lots of money.

However, in the first verse, Jay-Z does not employ the phrase in question in this sense. Rather, he is demonstrating that he has what it takes to follow fashion trends and implement them in his daily life.

The passage’s main idea, that Jigga can keep hunting forever thanks to his wealth, is supported by the fact that he can afford to live such a lavish lifestyle. As Mr. Carter’s legion of devoted listeners well knows, the man’s songs frequently feature inspirational and motivational messages.

And he adds that you “can’t be scared to fail in the search for perfection” this time around. According to his interpretation, following such a philosophy entails swapping out old girlfriends for “fresh” ones regularly.

2. “Hot Shower” by Chance the Rapper (ft. DaBaby & MadeinTYO)

Chance the Rapper ft. MadeinTYO & DaBaby - Hot Shower (Official Video)

Many have labeled Chance the Rapper’s “Hot Shower” as a braggadocio anthem, and in most cases they’re right. The first line of Chance the Rapper’s debut single is centered on his greatness. Both DaBaby and MadeinTYO emphasize in their verses that they receive compensation.

However, there are two key ways in which this song departs from the mold of typical boast rap. That it features Chance the Rapper, one of the most vivid and inventive lyricists working today, is a big plus.

To put it another way, not many emcees can make an entertaining analogy out of a fight over McDonald’s “50 extra cents for barbecue” sauce. And second, DaBaby’s lyrics take on a decidedly racial and possibly controversial tone toward the end of his verse and into the interlude. The point he’s making is that, in ‘American’ culture, he’s supposed to present himself as a violent thug.

3. “Saint-Tropez” by Post Malone

Post Malone - Saint-Tropez (Official Video)

“Saint-Tropez” by Post Malone is a song about the singer’s extravagant lifestyle, due to his successful life. Although Malone is addressing a common topic in hip-hop, he is doing so in a humorous manner.

Overall, he decided to put out the song because many of the other songs on his “Hollywood’s Bleeding” album deal with more gloomy themes. He likely included the upbeat, celebratory “Saint-Tropez” to strike a better balance throughout the album.

The majority of his joy is based on his financial situation. He accomplishes this by referring to the expensive brands he likes to buy. In addition, he brags about his penchant for lavish jewelry purchases, which include gifts for his female companions. The town in France from which this song takes its name is well-known for serving the needs of the wealthy. Essentially, it’s meant to emphasize the singer’s affluence.

4. “MONEY” by LISA (BLACKPINK)

LISA - 'MONEY' EXCLUSIVE PERFORMANCE VIDEO

It seems that K-pop stars have joined the ranks of rap artists who brag about their wealth. For example, here we see Lisa of Blackpink fame, who is presumably enjoying a comfortable financial situation.

While the singer doesn’t make as much of an effort as her American contemporaries do to name-drop luxury brands, she makes it clear that she’ll be using the money primarily for herself. Alternatively, we can say that the central ideas of this song can be boiled down to a pair of theses. In addition to the satisfaction of earning money, Lisa takes great pleasure in lavishly spending her paychecks.

5. “Lemonade” by Internet Money

Internet Money - Lemonade ft. Don Toliver, Gunna & Nav (Directed by Cole Bennett)

Lyrically, “Lemonade” by Internet Money is one of the best Songs About Business Success. Internet Money raps about the perks of their success, including a lavish lifestyle. While looking back on their success, they boast about their wealth, material possessions, wild social lives, and drug use.

Pre-chorus and verse references to Xanax and Adderall, suicide doors as a metaphor for the high-priced vehicles they drive, and the term “bag” as shorthand for a large sum of money are all there for you to see. Don also brings up the Belgian fashion designer Raf Simons, saying that if he dressed in Raf Simons’ creations, college women would be eager to have sexual relations with him.

The rappers brag throughout the song about their wealth, fame, and rise to success, and they promise not to testify against each other or their friends if they are ever arrested. They recall separate times when they were arrested and promise not to reveal one another’s whereabouts.

6. “Started from the Bottom” by Drake

Drake - Started From The Bottom

We all know that anything titled “Started from the Bottom” is destined for greatness, especially in the realm of hip-hop. Rap songs with this sort of subject matter are, as those more versed in the field would agree, extremely common.

However, Drake has explained why he is removing this song: it is an accurate reflection of his humble beginnings. To rephrase, his explanation seems to imply that many people think he came from a wealthy family and therefore had an easier path to fame. Drake, though, felt it necessary to set the record straight and say that far from it, he and his family had to work incredibly hard for him to get where he is today.

The chorus doesn’t exactly convey a sense of backbreaking toil, though. But perhaps we can say that such is logically implied, given that it would indeed take some significant sacrifices to make it “from the bottom” up to the major success Drizzy had become.

7. “Industry Baby” by Lil Nas X

“Industry Baby,” as a poetic way to boast about success in the music business. And then he spits some verses to back it up. The singer, for instance, has won multiple Grammy Awards and is very successful in his chosen field.

In addition, he modestly mentions that he has a “couple” of plaques. To be fair, four of the gay rapper’s six singles to date have achieved multi-platinum status in the United States. Also, they have multiple certifications that allow them to work in a wide variety of countries.
