Asked about the inspiration for this song by The Boombox, Keys explained that she’s celebrating her personal development. She explained the concept behind the album by explaining that, the song “‘Brand New Me’ talks about the path that must be traversed in order to arrive at a destination from which one can emerge as a new and improved version of oneself. This was in reference to the title track of the album.

It’s quite fine to continue to expand one’s horizons. Those who have known you for a long time may only see you as the person you used to be, rather than the person you are today.

It appears that the singer was thinking about her baby when she wrote the song “New Day.” She sings, “There’s no limitation, no,” again and over again. “Get the most out of life. I want to see your hands raised.”

In regard to the subject matter of the song, Keys stated that for her, “A new day brings with it the opportunity to choose how you will build the life of your dreams and to allow nothing or no one to stand in your way. It is an opportunity for development. It’s a beautiful feeling.”

After years of battling with infertility, Dion finally decided to undergo surgery and in vitro fertilization in an effort to conceive a child. Meanwhile, her husband had recently been given a diagnosis of esophageal cancer.

On January 25, 2001, she became a mother for the first time, to a son named René-Charles Angélil. Her return song was inspired by the journey she had to finally give birth to her “miracle kid.”

Dion stated that the title was also intended to provide hope to a nation that was broken after the terrorist atrocities of September 11, 2001.

She claims the song represents her child because she is the one who brought him into the world. In addition to that, it signals the beginning of her comeback with a brand new album that is guaranteed to have your heart racing.

As she continues to discuss the terrorist attack, she says, “A new day has also broken in the lives of other individuals despite the fact that something terrible has occurred, that they have lost their lives, and that it leaves a scar on the planet.”

However, Lipa has yet to reveal whether or not the song’s lyrics were based on an actual split. She did say, though, that she wished she’d known about this song while she was going through a breakup with an ex and wanted her to have it.

During an interview on Zane Lowe’s show on Beats 1, Ed Sheeran said that he isn’t referring to one of his ex-actual girlfriend’s boyfriends when he uses the phrase “the boys that she likes,” or at least the archetype of the males that she believes she likes.
