Songs About God’s Wrath

God’s wrath is a hot topic in the world today. Disasters, terrorism, disease, and other tragic events often lead to discussions about God’s wrath as described in the Bible. Many people are curious about what Scripture says about God’s wrath and how it leads to our redemption through Jesus Christ.

This list has the top songs about God’s wrath – from general concepts to specific instances of His rage. A key message of this article is not just that God punishes evildoers but also that he takes great pleasure in the triumph of the good.

And that the greatest manifestation of his righteousness is the atoning death and triumphant resurrection of Jesus Christ, his Son. As a result of Christ’s substitutionary atonement, we have received God’s righteousness and are no longer subject to his wrath. Certainly, something to be happy about!

So, with that said, I’ll throw up a few songs about God’s wrath.

1. Lord Of All By Kristian Stanfill.

Lord of All - Kristian Stanfill

Our God is a raging fire that consumes everything. Even the Holy Spirit appeared to the disciples in the upper room on the day of Pentecost as fiery thorns.

This was the same way that he communicated with Moses through the burning bush. This fire is a chastiser as well as a destroyer; and by the destroyer, I mean that it administers punishment. This song by Kristian Stanfill draws attention to the idea that those who oppose God will eventually have to deal with the latter.

There is no doubt that those who oppose God will reassert themselves, but they will be destroyed by the blazing fire of the Lord of All. All of his adversaries will be reduced to ash because he is the LORD of lords and the KING of kings.

2. Warrior by Sojourn Music

David’s God is also known as “The Mighty Man of War.” It is no surprise that David did not lose a single one of the sixty-six battles he participated in. After all, how could he lose a battle when he was the man after the heart of The Mighty Man of War?

“…they will feel Your wrath upon their souls”

This song also refers to the wrath of God. According to the Bible, we should not be afraid of a man who is capable of killing only the body, but we should be afraid of the Man who is capable of killing both the body and the soul, and God is that Man.

Now if God is that ‘Man,’ it would be foolish to be His Enemy because of who He is. The lyrics of the song state that those who oppose God have no place to hide. The Mighty Man of War will prevail over all of his adversaries, and then he will put an end to them by destroying them with fire.

3. For Our God Spared Not the Angels by Abe and Liza Philip

For Our God Spared Not the Angels (Hymn About Hell & Salvation) 2 Peter 2:4

This Song is entirely about God’s anger and the fact that no one is exempt from it, not even the angels that serve in His army.

During Lucifer’s attempt to topple God from his throne, God did not turn a blind eye to the morning star, Lucifer, or his friends. Because he received the punishment that was rightfully owed to him, we can say that God is a just God.

This song’s very first verse provides a glimpse into how dreadful the wrath of God can be. Lucifer and his minions have been punished by being hurled down into hell, where the flames will never go out, where the worms will live forever, and where they will be tormented both day and night. After listening to this verse of the song, you will never want to do something that will bring the wrath of God upon you again.

The second verse is a little bit more terrifying. The Bible has previously taught us that we should not be afraid of a man simply because he can murder the body; rather, we should be afraid of a man because he can kill both the body and the soul. For instance, if a person who is capable of killing only the body sets you on fire, once you have been reduced to ashes, your suffering will be over.

On the other hand, if a person who is capable of killing both the body and the soul sets you on fire… if you paid any attention at all to your Catechism, you would have known that the soul cannot perish; the suffering that your body will experience until it disintegrates and the suffering that your soul will experience until it is no more will both be a part of your torment. You have to admit, that is rather terrifying, don’t you?

And the second verse went much further to remind us that the anger of God is beyond anything that we could imagine. I have a vivid and expansive imagination, and I would never put myself in harm’s way by subjecting myself to a level of rage that I am unable to even fathom, I don’t know about you, b

4. Slow to anger by Joshua Miller

SLOW TO ANGER | Feat. Joshua Miller | Vineyard Worship

As we know by now, God’s anger is beyond what we can imagine, but even so, God is slow to anger. The Bible tells us that He is a loving Father and a merciful God.

The scripture teaches that God is forgiving, kind, slow to wrath, and full of love. Not only does he not punish us for our wrongdoings, but he also does not show mercy. Because he loves those who fear him infinitely more than anyone else could ever love them; because he has cast our sins as far as the east is from the west, so far has he erased them from his sight.

The message in this song is simple. God’s wrath is beyond our imagination, but so is His love for us
